Welcome Hunters to Deer Season 2013!
Pike County, Illinois is where it all happens!
We are still riding the high from our 2012 season! What an amazing year! We hope you’ve been able to watch Archer’s Choice
to see Eagle Lakes in action from last fall’s hunt.
We have made a few changes this year such as relocating our main office (please note the new address and phone number) and opening up satellite camps for more privacy for groups. We are excited for what this year has to offer for you! We still have lots of acres to hunt and plenty of stands to choose from. There are still just a few openings the end of October and the middle of November, so if you want to consider extending your stay or have some friends who are looking for an awesome hunt, let us know.
The State of Illinois has posted the information regarding non-resident archery permits. There are two options: online at www.dnr.state.il.us/license
(this will direct you to the DNR Direct Online License Sales site) or go directly to the DNR Direct Online License Sales site at https://www4.wildlifelicense.com/il/start.php
or you may still call by phone at 1-888-673-7648(1-888-6PERMIT). Whether you call in or use the online service use our outfitter number - DT0800047. Hunters that are unsuccessful in the outfitter draw will be automatically placed into the general draw. You can also apply as a group. Be sure to follow the directions given by phone and online.
If you apply online, please follow the directions via the links on our information page. Information needed will be the same as last year, including: social security number, drivers license number, height, weight, etc. If you have any questions after June 1st, please feel free to call the office any time – day or night!
The application process is by lottery again this year. The first 7500 will be allocated to clients of outfitters licensed through the State of Illinois. Applications will be taken from June 1st through June 30th. The cost of a non-resident archery combination deer permit (one either-sex/one antlerless) will be $400.00. The quota will be 25,000 for non-resident combo tags. The cost of a non-resident archery antlerless deer permit (available over the counter) will be $15.50 and there is no quota.
All hunters are required to obtain either a 5-day or an annual hunting license, $28.75 or $50.75, respectively. A Habitat Stamp is also required - $5.50. The State of Illinois strongly suggests that you do not purchase your hunting license until you receive your deer permit. The hunting licenses are not refundable. They can be purchased online as well.
Please go to our information page for a list of items you will need to bring with you to hunt as well as directions to the lodge. We sincerely appreciate your scheduling some time with us and we look forward to seeing you very shortly. There are still a few openings if you have a friend who would like to join you this fall. If you have any questions please feel free to call Tina at the office.
